Ghazal Alagh is an Indian entrepreneur, investor, and artist best known as the co-founder of Mamaearth, one of India's most recognized toxin-free personal care brands. As Chief Innovation Officer of Honasa Consumer Limited, she transformed a personal parenting struggle into a billion-dollar business, becoming one of the country's most influential self-made businesswomen and a familiar face on Shark Tank India.

Born on September 2, 1988, in Gurgaon, Haryana, Ghazal grew up in a middle-class family in Chandigarh as the eldest of three siblings. Her father ran a car accessories showroom while her mother managed the household. She completed her schooling in Haryana before earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications from Punjab University in 2010, later pursuing a specialized course in modern art and design at the New York Academy of Art in 2013.

Ghazal began her professional life in 2008 as a corporate trainer at NIIT, specializing in SQL, J2ME, and Oracle. After marrying Varun Alagh in 2011, her career took a defining turn when their newborn son Agastya developed skin issues linked to chemical-laden baby products. Unable to find safe alternatives in the Indian market, Ghazal and Varun founded Mamaearth under Honasa Consumer Limited in 2016, starting with just seven toxin-free products and a ₹25 lakh investment. The brand became Asia's first to receive the MADE SAFE certification in 2017 and rapidly expanded into skincare and haircare. Ghazal went on to launch The Derma Co. and Aqualogica, while Honasa later acquired BBlunt and Dr. Sheth's. In 2021, she joined Shark Tank India as a judge, boosting her public profile. Honasa Consumer achieved unicorn status in 2022 and went public in 2023 with a valuation of roughly $1.2 billion.

Ghazal lives in Gurgaon with her husband and business partner, Varun Alagh, and their two sons, Agastya (born 2014) and Ayaan (born 2022). She has spoken openly about her post-pregnancy weight loss journey, shedding around 20 kg through diet and fitness. Outside of business, she enjoys yoga, art, travel, and driving - with a known fondness for cars like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.
