Sponsored Content Policy

Sponsored Content Policy

Our commitment to transparency, editorial integrity, and honest disclosure for all brand-paid content published on The Cine Buzz.

Last Updated: June 20, 2026
At The Cine Buzz (www.thecinebuzz.in), we believe our readers deserve to know when content has been paid for or produced in partnership with a brand or individual. This policy outlines how we handle all forms of paid, promotional, or partner-funded content across our platform.

1 What Is Sponsored Content?

Sponsored content refers to any article, video, social post, or other material published on The Cine Buzz that has been paid for, gifted, or otherwise funded by a third party — including but not limited to:

  • Brand Post articles written or co-written with a company or PR agency
  • Promotional features, press releases, and celebrity launch stories funded by a client
  • Product reviews or mentions where the product was received free of charge
  • Interviews or profile pieces arranged and paid for by a publicist or manager
  • Event coverage where The Cine Buzz received payment, gifting, or complimentary access
  • Exclusive features or entrepreneurial spotlights commissioned by the subject
  • "Get Featured" placements on our Exclusive section

2 How We Label Sponsored Content

All sponsored, paid, and promotional content will carry a clearly visible disclosure label at the top of the article. We use the following standard labels:

SPONSORED BRAND POST PAID PARTNERSHIP ADVERTORIAL PROMOTED CONTENT IN ASSOCIATION WITH
⚠ These labels will always appear prominently — never hidden in fine print or placed at the bottom of a page. This is non-negotiable.

3 Editorial Independence

Accepting payment for content does not mean we will publish false or misleading information. The Cine Buzz maintains these editorial standards for all sponsored content:

  • Sponsored content must be factually accurate to the best of our knowledge
  • We reserve the right to decline or edit any content that is misleading, defamatory, or in poor taste
  • Sponsored content will not be disguised as breaking news or hard editorial pieces
  • Our editorial team's opinions — in reviews, columns, and editorials — are never for sale
  • Brands or sponsors do not influence our editorial coverage outside the agreed sponsored content

4 Types of Paid Arrangements We Accept

  • Brand Post / Sponsored Articles: Full articles written or reviewed by our team on behalf of a paying brand or individual
  • Featured Profiles: Entrepreneurial and celebrity spotlights via our "Get Featured Exclusively" service
  • Display Advertising: Banner ads, sidebar ads, and programmatic advertising clearly separated from editorial content
  • Event Partnerships: Coverage of brand events, product launches, and film promotions via commercial agreement
  • Gifted Products / Complimentary Access: Products or event access provided free for review purposes — always disclosed
  • Social Media Amplification: Paid promotion of content via our official social media channels

5 What We Do Not Permit

  • Publish content that is intentionally false, fabricated, or defamatory regardless of payment
  • Remove a disclosure label at a client's request — all paid content must be clearly labeled
  • Accept payment to publish positive coverage without disclosing it as sponsored
  • Allow sponsors to alter our editorial opinions or suppress negative factual reporting
  • Publish content promoting illegal products, services, gambling, or adult content
  • Allow a brand's sponsored content to be mistaken for a genuine news article or editorial review

6 Compliance with Regulatory Guidelines

This policy is designed to comply with guidelines issued by:

  • ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India): Requires paid content to be clearly identified as advertising
  • Press Council of India: Mandates separation between editorial and paid/promotional material
  • Google Webmaster Guidelines: Requires disclosure of sponsored links and content to maintain search integrity
  • Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India): Prohibits misleading advertisements and undisclosed endorsements

Brands and PR agencies working with us are responsible for ensuring submitted content is truthful and does not violate applicable Indian advertising or consumer protection laws.

7 Affiliate Links & Endorsements

Articles on The Cine Buzz may contain affiliate links — links through which we earn a small commission if a reader makes a purchase. Any such article will include a disclosure note. Similarly, any compensated personal endorsements or product recommendations will be disclosed accordingly.

8 Corrections & Takedowns

If sponsored content is found to contain factual inaccuracies after publication, we will issue a correction or update the article with a visible note. Content that violates our policy post-publication may be taken down at our sole discretion, with no obligation to refund the sponsor.

9 Reader Feedback

If you believe any content on The Cine Buzz that appears promotional has not been properly disclosed, please report it to us. We take such reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
