Jaipur: Bringing a fresh and distinctive story to Bollywood, Jaipur-based director Khushal S. Rathore is all set to make his Bollywood directorial debut with ‘Common Aadmi’. Produced under the banner of Aritra Das Creation, the film is produced by Aritra Das, with Ram Kamal Mukherjee serving as the Creative Producer.
The film is based on the life and journey of CA Devendra Jain and is a biopic inspired by Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s book ‘Common Aadmi’. Through the film, the makers aim to present an engaging account of a Chartered Accountant’s professional journey, responsibilities and experiences.
According to director Khushal S. Rathore, one of the most distinctive aspects of the film is its subject. While Bollywood has witnessed several films revolving around scams and financial frauds, ‘Common Aadmi’ focuses on the relatively unexplored aspect of scam recovery. The film revolves around the recovery of an ₹8,000-crore scam and attempts to take audiences through the processes and challenges involved in such a recovery—an aspect that is rarely explored on screen.
The director further shared that very few films have explored the professional life and journey of a Chartered Accountant in detail. With ‘Common Aadmi’, the makers aim to bring the profession, responsibilities, challenges and different stages of a CA’s journey to the cinematic screen.

‘Common Aadmi’ attempts to present the professional as well as personal journey of a Chartered Accountant in detail. The film will also explore the transition from a CA to a liquidator, while introducing audiences to the role and responsibilities of a liquidator.
Through its narrative, the film will explain how a Chartered Accountant’s professional responsibilities can evolve and how the role of a liquidator becomes significant in matters involving financial crises and companies facing complex financial situations.

The film was shot across Bhopal and Mumbai, with the entire shoot completed over a period of 28 days. Made at an estimated budget of approximately ₹8 crore, ‘Common Aadmi’ has been conceived as a theatrical release. The film’s official release date has not yet been announced. However, the makers are planning to bring the film to cinemas by April.
