"Nobody Gets Work Sitting Idle": Anupama Prakash Gets Real About Rejection, Networking And Staying Afloat In The Industry
Anupama Prakash opens up on rejection, networking and survival in showbiz, and why she believes talent alone never guarantees work in the industry.
Actress-producer Anupama Prakash isn't one to sugarcoat things. In a candid chat about life in the entertainment business, she made it clear that talent alone doesn't pay the bills - hustle does. Known for shows like Prabha Ki Diary, Farzi Kaka and Risknamaa, and now building her own slate under Kaccha Lemmon Productions, Anupama has seen the industry from both sides of the camera, and she isn't holding back on what she's learned.
One of the biggest hurdles, she says, isn't lack of talent but reluctance to ask for work. "It's not always about ego. Sometimes experienced actors feel they've already done good work and don't want to approach people for smaller opportunities. But nobody gets work sitting idle. You have to reach out to producers, directors and casting professionals," she says.
