Sameera Reddy Says Your Daily Grind Is Already a Workout - And Horlicks Wants to Fuel It

Forget the idea that fitness only happens between sets at the gym. According to actor and wellness advocate Sameera Reddy, the real workout is everything else - the commute, the deadlines, the household chores, the sheer motion of getting through an ordinary day. It's this philosophy that anchors Horlicks' latest campaign, built around a new protein powder aimed at people who may never set foot in a gym but still push their bodies to the limit daily.

Reddy has become the face of Horlicks' "Your Day Is the Real Workout" campaign, a message that reframes protein as something everyone needs, not just athletes or gym regulars. The idea is simple: if your day already demands energy and stamina, your nutrition should keep pace with it.

The new Horlicks Protein Powder delivers 24 grams of protein and 4 grams of prebiotic fibre per serving, packaged in single-serve sachets meant to slot easily into a hectic routine - whether that's a desk drawer at the office, a travel bag, or a kitchen counter at home.

At the heart of the formula is fermented yeast protein, which the brand says supplies all nine essential amino acids and carries a PDCAAS score of 1.0 - a measure used to indicate protein quality. The mix also includes inulin, a prebiotic fibre, along with papain. Buyers can choose between Chocolate, Coffee, and an Unflavoured option.

Speaking on the launch, Rajneet Kohli, Executive Director of Foods at Hindustan Unilever Limited, described protein as a natural next step for a brand that's spent over a century in Indian households. Sujatha Jayaraman, Vice President and Head of Foods R&D & Regulatory Affairs, added that getting enough protein isn't the only concern - the quality and completeness of that protein matter just as much.

Each 1 kg pack comes with 28 pre-measured sachets, doing away with the guesswork of scooping out portions. With this launch, Horlicks appears to be betting on a broader shift: positioning protein not as a niche fitness supplement, but as an everyday essential for India's busy, always-on population.
