Nivedita Basu Launches Platform Celebrating Self-Made Women's Journeys in Delhi

Delhi played host on September 24, 2026, to the first edition of the Self-Made Woman Achievers Awards – Delhi & North Chapter, a new initiative spearheaded by Nivedita Basu that puts the spotlight on women who have built their own paths to success.

The platform was conceived with a simple but pointed purpose: to acknowledge women who have carved out a name for themselves across varied fields, often without the cushion of inherited privilege or ready-made networks.

At the ceremony, recognition went to Shanaya Arora, Monika Bhadoria, CA Tripti Shingal Somani, Swati J., and Yashika Sheikh - each honoured for the mark they've made in their respective sectors.

Rather than confining itself to one industry, the evening cast a wide net, celebrating stories rooted in women's empowerment, entrepreneurship, social impact, and community building. The idea, organisers said, was to give visibility to journeys that often go unnoticed despite the scale of effort behind them.

The awards were held in collaboration with Van Vivaha, India Luxury Foundation, and A Dot GNH, bringing together partners from across the events and social impact space to back the initiative.
