Shailesh Ramugde: Award-Winning Actor Champions Youth Education and a Drug-Free India

Actor Shailesh Ramugde is in the spotlight this season - not just for his growing list of screen credits, but for the social work running alongside them. Recent recognitions have cemented his standing as one of the industry's brightest emerging names: 'Promising Actor of the Year' at the International Glory Awards 2025, 'Best Actor' honours at both the II Awards and the Boogal Bollywood Awards, and the 'Rising Sensation of the Year' title from Mid-Day Showbiz.

This Independence Day, he visited Nova English High School in Vasai, where he spoke to students about patriotism and civic duty in today's context. This isn't a one-off gesture. Last year, he funded scholarships for 78 students at a school under the Ayushman Foundation in Airoli. He's since widened the initiative to include students who've just cleared their Class 10 exams, alongside continued support for those in Classes 11 and 12.

The heart of his message at the event went beyond the usual Independence Day sentiment: true freedom, he said, isn't only about the past - it's also about liberating today's youth from addiction, substance abuse and paths that lead them astray.
