There's something refreshingly unhurried about the new romantic track from Love Lottery. Nazar Lag Jayegi, the film's latest musical offering, leans on quiet mountain scenery rather than grand gestures to tell its love story - and it works largely because of the easy, believable chemistry between lead pair Akshay Oberoi and Hailey Daruwala.
Filmed against the sweeping landscapes of Uttarakhand, the song trades typical filmi excess for something more grounded. The valleys, the mist, the greenery - all of it frames the couple's growing closeness in a way that feels lived-in rather than staged. It's a mood the makers seem to have chased deliberately, and one that hints at a relationship in the film that won't stay smooth for long.
Playback singers Javed Ali and Radhika Bhide lend the track its emotional pull, with music by Varun Mishra and Arvind Pandey and lyrics by Pandey himself rounding out a composition that leans soft and sincere. Cinematographer Naveen V. Mishra captures the hills with a painterly touch, while choreographer Devendra Chaturvedi "David" keeps the movement minimal - letting the actors' expressions do most of the talking.
Speaking about the song, director-composer Arvind Pandey said the idea was to show the couple's bond "in a very natural way," with Uttarakhand's landscape offering exactly the atmosphere the scene needed. Producer Kuldeep Bhargava "Tushar" added that the film digs into how relationships can shift unexpectedly - with love and trust colliding in ways the characters don't see coming.
Love Lottery is produced by Kuldeep Bhargava "Tushar" under Cinema Ganj Films and directed by Arvind Pandey, with story and screenplay credited to Ankur Khatri. The technical team includes cinematographer Naveen V. Mishra, choreographer Devendra Chaturvedi "David," and editor Prakash Jha.
