The Vvaan teaser spends most of its runtime settling Tamannaah Bhatia into familiar territory - Mamta, the devout wife of Sidharth Malhotra's character, a woman defined by faith, ritual and quiet belief. Then, for just a few seconds, her eyes turn red. And that single shot undoes everything the film had just told us about her.

It's a small moment, but it lands hard, mostly because of what we already know about Vvaan itself. The forest at the heart of the film isn't just dangerous - it's guarded by an ancient force that sits somewhere between goddess and myth, divine and unexplained. Mamta, meanwhile, has been shown deep in Chhath Puja, anchored firmly in the world of ritual and devotion. The teaser seems to be asking: what happens when that devotion collides with something far older than religion?

That collision is really the question driving the whole teaser. Is Mamta simply unlucky enough to get caught in Vvaan's supernatural crossfire, or does she share some hidden thread with the forest's power? The visuals suggest the latter might be closer to the truth. The film hints that whatever lives in Vvaan doesn't stay contained within the forest - it travels, and Mamta appears to be the point where it crosses over into the human world. The film brings together an unusual combination of creative forces - TVF's Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra, and Ektaa Kapoor - for a big-budget attempt to bring Indian folklore into mainstream commercial cinema. It blends adventure, mystery and humour into what's being pitched as a full family entertainer, with a companion comic book, The Legend of Vvaan, already fleshing out the universe ahead of release.

The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari, and stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles.

The Vvaan releases in theatres on September 25, 2026.
