Ramayana’s Karnataka Release Gets a Local Power Boost as Yash Steps Into Distribution

The buzz around Ramayana, among the most ambitious undertakings in Indian cinema today, has picked up fresh momentum. Rocking Star Yash, who steps into the role of Ravana for the epic, is adding another title to his résumé - this time away from the camera. His banner, Monster Mind Creations, will handle the film’s theatrical distribution across Karnataka through its distribution arm, giving the actor a direct hand in how the film reaches audiences in his home state.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological saga is being rolled out as a two-part release, with the first chapter headed for a worldwide theatrical debut on November 5, 2026, and the sequel slated for Diwali 2027. For Yash, who is already on board as a co-producer alongside Namit Malhotra, taking on Karnataka’s distribution marks a natural next step in an association that already runs deep - spanning performance, production and now regional release strategy.

Industry insiders suggest Yash was closely involved in shaping the film’s broader South Indian distribution map, helping finalise partners across the southern states before settling on his own company for Karnataka. The choice underlines how significant the state is expected to be for the film’s overall box office run, with the actor’s star power seen as an added edge in driving ticket sales on home ground.

The rest of Ramayana’s distribution network has been carved out among major industry names. Sony Pictures Releasing will manage the film’s release overseas, Dharma Productions has picked up North India for a reported ₹250 crore, Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations will cater to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Think Studios takes on Tamil Nadu, and E4 Entertainment (along with AVA Productions) will oversee the Kerala release.

With Monster Mind Creations now entering the fray in Karnataka, the film’s rollout strategy appears firmly in place across every major market. Given Ramayana’s scale, its sprawling ensemble cast and the weight of expectation riding on it, Yash’s expanded involvement - as actor, producer and now distributor - adds an intriguing layer to how the film’s fortunes in Karnataka will ultimately play out.
