Yami Gautam Dhar to Surprise Fans with a Bold New Look in "Nayi Naveli"

Mumbai: This Dussehra 2026, moviegoers are in for a fun mix of comedy, suspense and family drama on the big screen. Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow's fantasy family entertainer "Nayi Naveli" is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, 2026, starring Yami Gautam Dhar in a role unlike anything she's played before.

Set in Meerut, the story follows a new bride who joins a wonderfully quirky family and initially comes across as the ideal daughter-in-law. Her presence lifts the mood of the household, but suspicion creeps in when her brother-in-law starts to feel something isn't quite right about her. This sets up the film's central mystery: is the seemingly perfect bahu secretly a witch?

Balaji Mohan directs the film, with the screenplay penned by Himanshu Sharma and Divya Nidhi Sharma. Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma produce, and the music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

Producer Aanand L Rai says the story is built to keep audiences guessing right till the end, while Nikhil Madhok calls it an ideal family watch for the Dussehra season.

With its mix of fantasy, comedy, family bonds and mystery, "Nayi Naveli" is shaping up to be a festive treat for audiences this Dussehra.
