Taha Shah Badussha: Biography, Age, Height, Career & More

Introduction:- Taha Shah Badussha is an Indian actor working in Hindi films and web series, best known for playing Tajdar "Taj" Baloch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix period drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024). He made his acting debut in 2011 with the Y-Films romantic comedy Luv Ka The End and has since built a career spanning film, television, web series, and music, alongside ventures as a producer and entrepreneur.

Early Life:- Taha was born on 19 November 1987 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to an Indian family. His father, Shah Sikkander Badusha, is an orthopedic surgeon originally from Tamil Nadu, while his mother, Mahnaz Sikkander Badusha, was a biochemist from Karnataka who later turned entrepreneur. He has an elder brother, Abid, a civil engineer trained at the University of Toronto. He began school at Sherwood Academy in Abu Dhabi, later studying at Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu, followed by The International School of Choueifat and Sharjah American International School in the UAE. He enrolled at the American University of Sharjah to study Business Administration but dropped out midway. Around 2006, largely to support his mother financially, he took up work across human resource management, construction, real estate, and construction material supply, and later started his own steel import business - a venture that collapsed during the economic recession.

Career Journey:- A 2009 New Year's trip to visit his brother in Toronto became the turning point that pushed Taha toward acting. He enrolled at the New York Film Academy in Abu Dhabi, and after completing part of the course, moved to Mumbai in September 2009 on his family's advice, where he trained intensively in dance and martial arts. He debuted on screen in 2011 with Luv Ka The End, playing an anti-hero - an unusual choice for the youth-genre space at the time. His second film, Dharma Productions' Gippi (2013), drew praise from names like Karan Johar and Nikhil Advani for his screen presence and versatility. He went on to appear in Mahesh Bhatt's Barkhaa (2015) opposite Sara Loren, and Karan Johar's big-budget Baar Baar Dekho (2016) alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif, followed by Ranchi Diaries (2017). In 2019, he made his Hollywood debut with Draupadi Unleashed, and expanded into the digital space with web series like Bullets (2021) opposite Karishma Tanna, Bekaboo 2 (2021), Aisa Waisa Pyaar (2021), and Taj: Divided by Blood (2023) as Murad Mirza. In 2022 he also debuted as a singer with the single "Vande Mataram." His biggest breakthrough came in 2024 with Heeramandi, earning him a Filmfare OTT Award nomination for Best Actor in a Series (Drama). He also appeared in the Kannada film Kabzaa (2023).

Personal Life:- Taha is unmarried. He is trained in Wushu and other martial arts, alongside acrobatics and gymnastics, and holds certification in paragliding and scuba diving. His hobbies include singing, travelling, and reading. A self-professed animal lover, he owns a pet cat named Whiskas. He avoids alcohol and follows a non-vegetarian diet.
