Mumbai's Yashna Collection Brings Fresh Energy to the Traditional Saree

In a market crowded with fast fashion, Yashna Collection is betting on something slower and more deliberate - the Indian saree, done right. The Mumbai-based label, curated by designer Ayesha Shetty, has steadily built a following among saree enthusiasts who want craftsmanship over convenience.

The collection's range is broad by design. Shoppers can find bridal sarees for the big day, Banarasi and Kanjivaram weaves for those chasing tradition, handloom and zari pieces for texture and detail, and georgette or designer sarees for something more contemporary. The idea, according to Shetty, isn't to chase trends but to give every woman a saree that feels like her own.

"My constant effort is to ensure that every woman who visits Yashna Collection finds something special that complements her personality and style," Shetty said. "Every woman drapes a saree in her own unique way, and I want our collection to help her express that individuality with confidence and elegance. My dream is to take Yashna Collection to even greater heights in the years ahead."

That philosophy has started to move beyond the store itself. Yashna Collection's designs have made appearances on the runway, most recently drawing an enthusiastic response at a fashion show in Chandigarh. Now, the brand is bringing its pieces closer to shoppers with a special showcase at Inorbit Mall, running from July 17 to August 16, 2026, giving saree lovers a chance to see the craftsmanship up close.

For Shetty, the mall showcase is one step in a larger plan. She's now looking to expand Yashna Collection's reach beyond Mumbai, aiming to bring the saree's traditional appeal to a wider, more geographically spread audience - while keeping pace with how fashion is evolving. That balancing act is already visible in the collection's occasion-based approach, with pieces designed specifically for weddings, festivals, family functions, and other milestone celebrations.
