Netflix drops the trailer for Enola Holmes 3, and it’s exactly as chaotic and charming as you’d hope

Millie Bobby Brown is trading her magnifying glass for a wedding veil - briefly, at least. Netflix has released the official trailer for Enola Holmes 3, and it finds the sharp-witted young detective preparing for her biggest personal milestone yet: marriage to Lord Tewkesbury. Naturally, things don’t go according to plan.

The trailer opens with Tewkesbury’s proposal, and Enola’s deadpan, fourth-wall-breaking reaction says it all: “Yes, I was surprised too.” From there, the story ships everyone off to Malta - where, mid-wedding preparations, Enola learns that her brother Sherlock has been kidnapped. The white gown stays on. The case begins anyway.

From that moment, the trailer shifts gears entirely - investigations, confrontations, and action sequences take over, as Enola races to bring her brother home while simultaneously grappling with the bigger question: what does marriage mean for a woman who has built her entire identity around her last name?

The returning cast is strong. Henry Cavill is back as Sherlock Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter returns as the eccentric Eudoria Holmes, Sharon Duncan-Brewster reprises her role as Moriarty, and Himesh Patel joins the main ensemble this time around as Dr. John Watson - a welcome addition to the franchise’s core group.

Behind the camera, there’s a notable change. This is the first Enola Holmes film not directed by Harry Bradbeer, who helmed both the 2020 original and the 2022 sequel. Philip Barantini - best known for the single-take thriller Boiling Point and Netflix’s critically acclaimed limited series Adolescence - takes the reins for the third installment.

At 1 hour 45 minutes, it will be the shortest entry in the franchise, but if the trailer is anything to go by, it won’t feel that way.

Enola Holmes 3 premieres on Netflix on July 1, 2026.
