Birthday Special: Adrija Roy Celebrates Birthday in Switzerland: "Getting Time Together Feels Like a Gift in Itself"

For Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy, birthdays have never been about the spotlight. So it feels fitting that as she rings in another year on July 4, she's doing it quietly - tucked away in Switzerland with her fiancé, Vignuesh, far from the glare of cameras and red carpets.

"It's going to be a quiet and special celebration," she says, sounding more relieved than restrained. "We both have busy schedules, so getting this time together feels like a gift in itself."

There are no grand parties on the agenda, no elaborate themes - just two people carving out time for each other amid the chaos of packed professional lives. For Adrija, that's more than enough.

The actress has always been clear about the kind of person she is when it comes to celebrations. "A nice dinner with family and close friends is my kind of birthday. Good food, good company, and lots of laughter - those simple moments are the ones I remember the most," she says. "I begin by thanking Durga Maa for another beautiful year and praying for good health for everyone around me. Then I take my parents' blessings. I also take a few minutes to reflect on the year gone by," she shares. It's a practice rooted in faith and family - two things that clearly anchor her.

Speaking of family, Adrija counts herself lucky that she's never had to trade a birthday with loved ones for a day on set. "The DKP team has always been very understanding. I've usually been able to take the day off, and I'm really grateful for that," she says - a small but meaningful acknowledgment of the people working quietly behind the scenes of her career.

When the conversation turns to gifts, Adrija doesn't pause long before answering. The most meaningful gift she's ever received? Life itself. "God has been very kind to me, both personally and professionally. Nothing is more valuable than good health and loving people around you," she says simply.

As for the people who make her birthday feel complete, she smiles: "My parents have always been the biggest part of it, and now Vignesh and my in-laws have become an equally special part too. Having all of them around makes every birthday whole."
