'Tumm Se Tumm Tak' Turns One: How Sharad Kelkar-Niharika Chouksey's Show Redefined Age-Gap Love Stories on TV

Zee TV's prime-time romance drama Tumm Se Tumm Tak has hit a significant milestone, completing one full year on air as of July 7, 2026. The show, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD Private Limited, has carved out a loyal fanbase since its debut and continues to stream to a global audience on ZEE5.

What set the show apart from day one was its willingness to tackle an unconventional love story. At its center are Anu Sharma, a spirited 20-year-old from Chandni Chowk played by Niharika Chouksey, and Aryavardhan "Arya," a 46-year-old business tycoon portrayed by Sharad Kelkar. The pairing-affectionately nicknamed "#Anurya" by fans online-has become the show's biggest draw, with viewers praising the way it handles the age gap between its leads with sensitivity rather than sensationalism.

Across more than 360 episodes, the writers have woven together family drama, suspense, and romance without letting any one thread overpower the others. Marking the anniversary, Chouksey took to Instagram to thank the audience, describing the past year as a journey that shaped her both personally and professionally, and crediting viewers' affection for Anu as the show's driving force.

Kelkar, whose portrayal of Arya has drawn praise for balancing authority with vulnerability, echoed similar sentiments, pointing to the milestone as a shared win for the entire ensemble-including veteran performers Vandana Pathak and Nasirr Khan-as well as the crew working behind the camera.

The anniversary arrives just as the show heads into a pivotal stretch. In the upcoming episode, Anu can no longer shake off the questions raised by Jalandhar's cryptic final words and decides to dig into Arya's past on her own. A visit to her father Gopal becomes the turning point-while he steps out to fetch her favourite Mathura peda, Anu resolves to find answers herself.

Piecing together an old memory, she recalls Arya once telling her he grew up in a place called Ganesh Nagar. Hoping to confirm the detail, she travels there and asks a group of elderly locals for directions-only to be told that no such place has ever existed in the area. The revelation leaves Anu shaken, forcing her to confront the possibility that Arya hasn't been entirely truthful with her.
