Urvashi Rautela Dives Into EDM With New Single ‘Heart Controller’

Mumbai: Urvashi Rautela is stepping outside her comfort zone - and into the booth. The Bollywood actress, known for her screen presence, is now venturing into Electronic Dance Music with her new single “Heart Controller,” marking her debut as a lead vocalist on a full-length EDM track.

The move is unusual territory for an actress better known for her film roles, but Rautela says the genre has held her interest for years. “EDM has always fascinated me,” she shared, adding that she’s long wanted to carve out a space for herself within the sound.

What makes the single personal is its title itself - Rautela has woven her own name into the track, with “Heart Controller” built around the words “Urvashi” and “Rautela.” It’s a deliberate nod to her roots, she says, a way of keeping her Indian identity and cultural background front and center even as she experiments with a distinctly global sound.

The project also carries international weight behind it. “Heart Controller” has been backed by Oriental House, alongside Hollywood producers Asln and Timor Jana - a pairing that lends the single a cross-border quality, blending Bollywood sensibility with Western production polish.

Whether audiences will embrace Rautela as a recording artist the way they have as an actress remains to be seen. But with “Heart Controller,” she’s clearly betting that her crossover into music won’t just be a passing experiment - it’s an attempt to plant a flag in a genre she’s long admired from the sidelines.
