Sai Pallavi Turns IPS Nithya Reddy, Ready to Fight Injustice in ‘Om: Chapter 1’!

The anticipation around Rajkumar Periasamy’s upcoming action drama just went up several notches. The makers of Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood have released a new glimpse introducing Sai Pallavi as IPS officer Nithya Reddy, and the reveal has given fans their first real look at how the actor fits into this high-stakes, jungle-set crime saga.

The roughly 100-second video positions Nithya Reddy as a central force in the story, with her mission framed around protecting nature while taking on a deeply entrenched criminal network. It’s a sharp departure from the roles audiences have come to associate with Sai Pallavi, known largely for emotionally grounded, naturalistic performances rather than hard-edged action.

Sai Pallavi joins a cast that already includes Dhanush, Mammootty, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah - a lineup that brings together some of Indian cinema’s most recognisable names across different industries. Dhanush leads the project, with Mammootty also playing a pivotal part, and the new teaser makes clear that Nithya Reddy isn’t a side character but one of the film’s key players.

Speaking about the casting, Shraddha Agarwal, producer at RTake Studios, praised Sai Pallavi’s honesty as a performer, calling Nithya Reddy an important character in the film and Sai Pallavi the ideal actor for the part.

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film is being mounted as the first installment of a planned two-part franchise, set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. The project is backed by Aartak Studios and Wunderbar Films, and continues the recent trend of South Indian cinema assembling pan-industry casts for large-scale theatrical releases.

OM: Chapter 1 is scheduled to release worldwide in cinemas on November 20, 2026. With the full scope of Nithya Reddy’s arc still under wraps, speculation is already building over how her character - and her fight for justice - will intersect with the film’s central conflict.
