Disha Patani: Always in a Different Phase of her Cinematic Career
From MS Dhoni to Awarapan 2, Disha Patani keeps reinventing herself with every film. A look at her genre-hopping journey ahead of her big August 14 release.
MUMBAI: Each time Disha Patani has been on the screens, she’s also been in an entirely different phase of her career. For the unversed, the actress kicked off her filmography with the 2015 Telugu release Loafer alongside Varun Tej. However, it was the 2016 Bollywood blockbuster MS Dhoni: An Untold Story that placed her at the front and center of the spotlight, announcing her as a promising actress. As Priyanka, Patani tapped into the vulnerability and softness of love, and left a mark nationwide, something that the audience has still been recovering from!
Making her Chinese film debut with Kung Fu Yoga in 2017 and sharing the screen space with the legendary Jackie Chan, Disha added one of the strongest titles to her body of work, proving that she did not wish to be boxed into a certain type of film. With projects like Bharat, Baaghi 2, Malang, Radhe and Ek Villain Returns, Patani further proved that she had moved away from that box. By then, she had entered the spaces of romantic-drama, action-romance, grey-shades and action-thriller, diversifying her body of work.
