Parvathy Trades Her Usual Roles for a Police Uniform in 'Pradham Drishtya Kuttakar'

For someone who's spent nearly twenty years picking roles that defy the obvious, Parvathy Thiruvothu is once again doing something she hasn't done before - she's putting on a police uniform.

The National Award-winning actress has just unveiled her first look as Aleena Abraham in the upcoming Malayalam thriller Pradham Drishtya Kuttakar, and it's a departure worth noting. This is the first time in her career that audiences will see her in the role of a woman police constable, and the image itself gives little away beyond a quiet, controlled intensity - exactly the kind of restraint the film seems to be banking on.

The story is set against the backdrop of a police station rattled by a murder investigation, with suspicion mounting and the case growing more tangled by the day. Aleena sits right in the middle of that unraveling.

Parvathy, never one to treat a role as just a costume change, said she approached the character from the inside out. "This is the first time I am playing a police officer," she explained. "For me, it wasn't just about wearing the uniform; I wanted to understand Aleena as a woman - her vulnerabilities, her commitment to duty and how she responds to changing circumstances."

The film is directed by Shahad, and early buzz suggests it could reveal a side of Parvathy's range that hasn't been explored on screen before.

Her plate isn't limited to this one project either. She's recently lent her voice to Kareena Kapoor Khan's police character in Daira Anjuni, and she has an upcoming series, Storm - backed by HRX and Amazon - in the pipeline as well. Between the uniform on screen and the voice work behind it, it looks like law enforcement is having something of a moment in Parvathy's filmography this year.
