Rakhi for the Protectors: Children of Meher Roshani Foundation SaathSHALA Mumbai Celebrate Raksha Bandhan by Honouring Security Personnel and Staff

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 15: Meher Roshani Foundation SaathSHALA Mumbai celebrated Raksha Bandhan with its children through a meaningful program that recognised the security officers and staff who play critical roles in ensuring their safety and well-being. The event emphasised the spirit of protection, respect, and thankfulness, while encouraging children to identify and appreciate those who work every day to create a secure and loving environment for them.
As part of the celebrations, the children made Rakhis as a creative activity centred around Swa-Raksha, self-defence and respect, along with our goodwill volunteer, Ms Dilkhush. The activity encouraged the children to reflect on the meaning of Raksha Bandhan and the bonds of care, protection and responsibility that the festival represents. The Rakhis made by the children became a special part of the celebrations.
This ceremony gave an expanded message of protection to life, as the children tied Rakhis to the security personnel, staff and each other, with a sense of commitment to protect, respect and care for one another and everyone around them.
We often overlook the people who keep our children, schools, and the places they gather safe. Those kids giving them a simple thank you was just an expression of gratitude and recognition for their contribution and the important role they play every day.

The initiative also provided an opportunity to reinforce the value of dignity of labour among children, helping them understand that every role has importance and that those who serve and protect our communities deserve respect, appreciation and recognition.
