Delhi Chief Minister to Grace India’s Largest Mega Blood Donation Drive as Chief Guest; Campaign Aims for Guinness Book of World Records

New Delhi [India], July 18: Lakshmi Taru Foundation today announced at a press conference held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, that India’s Largest Mega Blood Donation Drive will be organized on August 2, 2026, with the objective of creating a new milestone in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Chief Minister of Delhi will attend the event as the Chief Guest.

The Mega Blood Donation Camp will be held at JMD Tent, Japanese Park, Sector-10, Rohini, New Delhi, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The campaign aims to transform voluntary blood donation into a nationwide movement and encourage citizens from all walks of life to contribute towards saving lives.

This year’s campaign is dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces and Thalassemia Warriors, carrying the inspiring messages: “A Drop for the Army” and “Every Drop Gives Someone a New Life.”

The organizers have set an ambitious target of collecting approximately 3,100 units of blood during the one-day campaign. The collected blood will be distributed to the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre (AFTC), AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College & Hospital, Hindu Rao Hospital, Lions Blood Centre, Rotary Blood Centre, and other authorized and licensed blood banks and hospitals to support soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces, children suffering from thalassemia, accident victims, critically ill patients, and others in need of lifesaving blood.

Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Orthopaedic Specialist, said, “There is a constant need for safe blood in our country. One unit of donated blood has the potential to save up to three lives. Regular blood donation by healthy individuals is completely safe and represents one of the greatest responsibilities towards society.”

Simple Arora, Biker & Healer, said, “When the youth unite for a cause of service, no goal is impossible. Blood donation is the greatest gift of life, and every young citizen should become a part of this historic campaign.”

Blood donation is the greatest donation because it gives a new lease of life to anyone in need without discrimination. Every eligible citizen should participate in this noble mission.”

The organizers informed that several licensed blood banks, hospitals, and medical institutions will participate in the mega camp. In addition to blood donation, the event will also feature free health check-ups, stem cell registration, thalassemia awareness initiatives, eye donation pledge campaigns, and recognition ceremonies for blood donors.

Blood collection will be carried out only by authorized and licensed blood banks. Every donor will undergo mandatory medical screening, and the entire donation process will strictly adhere to national and international safety standards. Blood donation will remain completely voluntary and free of cost.

The campaign is being supported by numerous NGOs, hospitals, corporate organizations, educational institutions, social organizations, volunteers, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and social media influencers.

The organizers have appealed to the media, civil society organizations, educational institutions, corporate houses, youth, and citizens across the country to actively participate in and promote this historic public welfare initiative. They emphasized that this is not merely an event but a national movement to strengthen voluntary blood donation in India and save thousands of lives.
