Aditya Vikram Birla: Building India’s Next Industrial Giant from the Ground Up

New Delhi [India], August 18: Aditya Vikram Birla knows what it feels like to watch years of hard work fall apart. When Cosmic Ferro Alloys, once regarded as the flagship business of Cosmic Birla Group, entered liquidation, many believed the Group had reached its lowest point. Businesses have recovered from setbacks before, but very few have rebuilt themselves with the speed and conviction shown by this industrial house. Instead of accepting defeat, Aditya chose to begin again, turning one of the darkest chapters in the company’s history into the starting point of an entirely new phase.
The story of Cosmic Birla Group stretches back to 1975, when Late R.S. Birla and Deo Kishan Mohta came together to build a manufacturing company focused on engineering products and components. R.S. Birla carried decades of industrial experience from his leadership roles within the GD Birla Group, while the new venture carried the ambition to create something independent. Years later, Ravi Kumar Birla strengthened the business by setting up its ferro alloy plant and expanding its manufacturing base. When Aditya stepped into leadership, he inherited not only a respected family business but also the responsibility of protecting its future during one of its toughest periods.
That renewed momentum soon appeared in business numbers. Cosmic CRF Ltd was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in June 2023 and gained attention from investors. During the first half of the 2024 and 2025 financial year, the company posted revenue growth of 37.19 percent, EBITDA growth of 136.03 percent, and profit after tax growth of 172.33 percent. Those figures placed the company among the fastest-growing manufacturing businesses in eastern India and signalled that the rebuilding effort was producing real commercial success.

Today, Cosmic Birla Group operates across several manufacturing sectors with nearly one thousand direct and indirect employees. Its businesses include Cosmic CRF Ltd, AVB Entech, Comet Technocom, Cosmic Rail Solutions Ltd, Cosmic Steel Castings Ltd, N S Engineering Pvt Ltd and several other companies working across different industrial segments. Together, they manufacture steel products, railway components, engineering goods, automotive materials, and construction products while supplying a large share of the railway wagon manufacturing chain within India. The Group’s position as a recognised vendor for the Research Design and Standards Organisation has added further credibility to its growing presence in the railway sector.
