The Toronto rap titan roared back from two years of silence with a three-album surprise drop, instantly dominating the world's largest streaming platform.

Drake reclaimed his place atop the music industry Friday, becoming Spotify's most-streamed artist in a single day in 2026 after unleashing three albums in one sweeping move - the long-anticipated Iceman, alongside surprise releases Maid of Honour and Habibti.

Spotify confirmed the milestone, noting that Iceman also claimed the title of most-streamed album in a single day this year, while the track "Make Them Cry" topped all individual songs streamed on the platform in that same period.

The numbers mark a thunderous return for one of rap's most bankable names. The releases are Drake's first solo projects since his bitter, headline-consuming feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024 - a rivalry that had left his standing in the industry bruised and his silence conspicuous.

The rollout was nothing short of theatrical. Drake spent months stoking anticipation for Iceman, erecting a massive ice structure in downtown Toronto with the album's release date frozen inside. Then, on Thursday evening, he appeared on a livestream and blindsided fans with the revelation that two additional albums would drop alongside it.

The music hit the internet like a grenade. Among the artists featured across the three projects are 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and Future — a pointed choice, given that Future previously teamed with Lamar and Metro Boomin on "Like That," the track widely credited with igniting the Drake-Lamar war. On Iceman, Drake reportedly takes aim at figures ranging from Lamar to LeBron James to DJ Khaled.

The streaming figures signal what could be a historic first-week chart performance. Industry analysts will be watching closely as tracking data accumulates over the coming days — a number that will either cement Drake's comeback or complicate the narrative still lingering from last year's public feud.

One day in, the verdict from listeners is already loud.
