The survey was conducted in late April 2025 and included 8,546 active daters across metro cities, small towns, and rural regions. Participants, aged between 18 and 30, came from diverse professional backgrounds such as IT, education, healthcare, content creation, finance, and more. The gender representation was equally distributed to capture balanced insights.

Ravi Mittal, CEO of QuackQuack, explained, “People naturally crave emotional safety and familiarity. Reconnecting with someone from the past offers both, even if things didn’t work out earlier. Dating today is less about finding someone new and more about re-exploring someone who almost felt right.”

   Many singles shared that their old matches never really ended—they just faded out due to timing, busy schedules, or lack of initiative. In fact, 27% of daters from Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities admitted they reconnected because the previous connection felt like ‘unfinished business.’

As Manish, a 26-year-old content strategist from Haryana, shared, “When I saw her profile again, I was hit with a wave of emotions and memories. It felt like the universe gave me a second chance.”

   One major perk of Nostalgia Matching is skipping the awkward small talk. Around 60% of women aged 25 to 30 reported that re-matching with an ex allowed them to have deeper and more meaningful conversations from the get-go. Chat durations were nearly twice as long as those with new matches.
