Sheena Chohan All Set To Make Her Tamil Debut With Director Vino Vikraman Pillai, Ilaiyaraaja and B. Jeyamohan For Folk Drama Tittled ‘Arjunanin Allirani’
Actress Sheena Chohan has officially been announced as the female lead in the upcoming Tamil folk drama Arjunanin Allirani, marking a significant new chapter in her pan-Indian career. The film brings together an acclaimed creative team, with celebrated Tamil author B. Jeyamohan (Ponniyin Selvan: I) as the writer, Vino Vikraman Pillai (Kafir) as director, and legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja on music.
Produced by Irfan Khan under the banner EBG Films, Arjunanin Allirani narrates the poignant story of two struggling artists - a folk dancer and a Dalit singer - whose lives are deeply intertwined through art, love, and survival. The film explores how they build a family against all odds, only for tragedy to strike, leaving the female protagonist to navigate loss, grief, and injustice. Her journey of resilience unfolds as she transforms her pain into powerful, empathic singing in her pursuit of dignity and justice.
Sheena will be seen as Rani, a complex and layered character portrayed across four phases of life, from adolescence to middle age. The role demands intense emotional depth as well as physical transformation. To authentically inhabit the character, Sheena will undergo rigorous training in Chilambattam, a traditional Tamil martial art involving stick combat.
