Known as the “Pink City,” Jaipur is a global capital of colored gemstones—home to centuries-old techniques, extraordinary craftsmanship, and a kaleidoscopic palette of rubellites, emeralds, tourmalines, and sapphires. For Lucia Silvestri, who has returned to Jaipur over 40 times in her career, the city represents more than a source of exceptional materials: it is a living tribute to color as culture, where nature’s treasures meet human artistry. 

For Priyanka Chopra Jonas, born in India and raised across continents, the journey to Jaipur was a personal reconnection with her roots. Immersed in the city’s rich colors and traditions, she explored the ancestral craft of gemstone cutting alongside Lucia Silvestri, deepening her bond with the land and its cultural heritage. Through inspiring moments spent with her longtime suppliers and amid Jaipur’s historic palaces and vibrant streets, Lucia shared with Priyanka the intimate, unseen world behind the brilliance of Bvlgari’s High Jewelry creations: the whispered dialogue between artisan and gem, the thrill of discovery, and the infinite creative possibilities unlocked by a single radiant stone.

Once the gems are carefully chosen in Jaipur, they begin their journey to Rome, arriving on Lucia Silvestri’s desk—where the true magic takes shape. Here, Lucia experiments with countless combinations and possibilities, seeking the perfect harmony that will bring the stones to life. She never commits to a gem without knowing how it will be transformed; but it is in these moments of creative expression and intuition that the initial dream takes tangible form. When the right balance is found, Lucia collaborates with the design centre to translate this vision into sketches. These drawings then pass into the hands of Bvlgari’s master artisans, who breathe life into the two-dimensional concept, crafting a three-dimensional masterpiece.
